For robot #20, I bring you this gem by
Brian Taylor named Sparky. I first saw Sparky several years ago while looking through Brian's page on
BlueFlip Art, where Sparky is still available as a giclee print. While recently looking through my favorite robot images, I thought I'd check out Brian's website and
blog. While looking through his blog, I came across some
amazing sketches of Sparky (below) that are SO cool! Here's an excerpt from Brian's blog:
"Pretty much everything I do starts out as a sketch. These are the steps I generally follow to produce a finished piece of work. I first work out my ideas in pencil in a Moleskine sketchbook. I then work over them in pen, refining the drawing as I go, then erase the original pencil work. If I feel that an idea is worth following through to a finished piece, I scan the sketchbook drawing and use it as a guide to work over on the computer."

All I can say is ... wow. Those are some freaking awesome sketches.
