the best marinade

Pork Tenderloin Teriyaki

This is the best marinade. It's super yummy and is something that my mom has been making for years - I absolutely love it. I can't tell you how many times I've made it. It adds lots of flavor to pork tenderloin (and steak, too).

4 TBSP soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 TSP freshly ground pepper
2 TSP light brown sugar
2 TBSP olive oil
1 TSP ground ginger
2 pork tenderloins, about 3/4 pound (340 g) each

Combine the soy sauce, garlic, pepper, brown sugar, oil and ginger in a jar. Cover tightly and shake until all the ingredients are well blended. Pour over the tenderloins and let them marinade for several hours in the fridge. Although the traditional recipe says to drain and place on a rack over a shallow pan 4 inches beneath your oven broiler (for 12-15 minutes), we usually just grill it (weather permitting!). Slice, serve and enjoy! (Serves six.)
