Skylab tour!

This Saturday my husband and I had the chance to go down and visit Bob at Skylab Letterpress. Bob was going to be working that day and was kind enough to allow us to stop by. What a treat! Bob's going to be printing something for me this month and seeing the process behind what he does was pretty darn cool. He's got a great shop here in KC just north of the river that's a quick 15 minute drive from our house. The Heidelberg press (pictured above) is really cool and is capable of printing 2500 pieces in an hour! While my edition is going to be much smaller than that, it's nice to know what it can do (in case I want to do a larger edition later!). Bob does a great job and is able to get an insane amount of detail when he prints. I'm thrilled that he's going to be printing a piece of mine.

Photos taken from Bob's Skylab flickr set.
